This year the show took place in New York and was again incredible with gorgeous models and amazing designs. On the catwalk was such as Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Martha Hunt, Stella Maxwell, Lais Ribeiro, Sara Sampaio, Cindy Bruna and Taylor Hill, who opened this year’s show. And we saw also the return of Behati Prinsloo, who skipped the last two shows due to pregnancies.
After 20 years of walking the runway as one of Victoria’s Secret’s most iconic models, Adriana Lima has announced that this years Victoria Secret Fashion Show will be her last.
She said, “I’m looking forward to supporting women and being connected to different projects which support women around the world, that’s my future from now on, but I am still happy that I am part of Victoria’s Secret this year.”
Icons who walked the show
Many of the world’s most successful models have appeared on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk at some point in their career, including Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, Helena Christensen and Miranda Kerr.
Often less is more when it comes to the VS show, with models typically showcasing little more than lingerie, heels and a pair of wings. There are always ‘themes’, like ‘sexy sportswear’ or ‘sexy nightwear’ or ‘sexy fairyland nymphs’ – and, despite the theatrical and often playful costumes, the underwear always takes centre stage (of course, let’s not forget the entire point of this is to sell knickers).
This year, the company is collaborating with London Fashion Week favourite Mary Katrantzou.
“Everything that Victoria’s Secret creates is about a woman feeling confident and empowered — and also having fun with what she is wearing,” Katrantzou said of the partnership. “This collaboration is going to be bold, fun and playful.”

The live runway show took place on November 8, but, it’s taped, and will air the next month.
It airs on Sunday, December 2 on ABC at 10 p.m.
The Fantasy Bra
This year, the Fantasy Bra will be designed by Atelier Swarovski and modelled by Elsa Hosk. The Swedish model was made an official Angel in 2015 and has walked in the show since 2011.
The bejewelled bra is adorned with more than 2,100 Swarovski diamonds and has been valued at $1 million. It took over 930 hours to create and has over 71 carats in the centre piece.
For the first time ever, customers will be able to purchase a version of the fantasy bra (made with real Swarovski crystals). It will cost $250 and will go on sale this month.
Elsa Hosk said, ”This years @victoriassecret fashion was the most emotional and powerful yet for me, from walking in this beautiful fantasy bra in my 8th show(!!)to seeing @adrianalima ‘s beautiful tribute as she walked for the last time in her 18th show! What an icon. To the girls who walked for their first time. Also mamas @angelcandicesand @behatiprinsloo back on the runway and all my shining angel buddies who work so hard each year to be there. Watch it all on@abcnetwork on dec.2nd ❤️ thank you @victoriassecret for all the inspiration and excitement.”
